Searchable Congressional database

Members of Congress, agency personnel, large company representatives, staff of some of the various trade associations and others interested in the federal SBIR program are often involved in the various ceremonies associated to the Annual Tibbetts Awards - Awards Program. Their participation can be a very effective way of educating them into the importance of the SBIR program to you and, by extension, to the state in which you do business and which they represent.

In particular, the US Small Business Administration - primary source of the Tibbetts initiative - extends invitation to Members of Congress. However, experience has shown that the invitation is much likely to be accepted if the invitation is from you - the constituent.

All Tibbetts Awardees are actively encouraged to invite the attendance of the states elected officials to Tibbetts Events. Since it is scheduled to be held on Capitol Hill (in the Science Committee Hearing Room, Rayburn House Office Building) and they can choose to stay for a long (or as short) as they are able, drop-by the Gala Reception is the most likely.

For those not sure who their Members are and/or how to get hold of them, this area gives access to a searchable database of all elected Congressional Officials - Senators and Representatives for every State in the Union and, as a bonus, also the Governor of the State. Note that most states have a State Office in Washington DC. These are not listed here.
