The comprehensive, privately-funded SBIR-STTR relational databases we have developed and maintain readily support very useful and highly diverse analyses of what is going in the SBIR-STTR space by any number of variables. It has been our experience through the years and many SBIR political efforts that, in addition to hearing the stories of particular awardees - usually very interesting, and always important! - Members also appreciate being provided some sense of the extent and form of SBIR-STTR activity in their own backyard. These data help address and foster that interest. Educating Members: You will find that most new Members, and even many experienced Members and their staffs are remarkably unaware of SBIR as so much more than an interesting small business program. The oft-repeated comment of these passed few weeks when provided this broader-based approach has been that they had not previously been aware of the sheer scope and scale, technical and economic impact of SBIR. This different perspective is making a difference about what options are on the table re. reauthorization
