Why an Access Code? The effectiveness of the ASSET system
serious, quality in-depth interaction on-site
and many consummated deals post event is solidly grounded in extensive pre-event groundwork. The Access Code System - a no-cost process - suupports that effort. It enables
Set-up of a Private Work Area online.
Q/A clarification postings to Tech Seekers.
Nutshell development.
Pre-event White paper submissions
Preparation of Awardee and Tech Seeker Profiles all factors designed to lay the groundwork for event participants very quickly to get down to serious business discussion when they finally meet. In short, the complete antithesis of speed-dating. ... and be honest - did simply trading business cards ever actually work for you?
Active pre-event site participation is encouraged - questions, White Paper submissions etc. However, to be effective - to make the contacts and actually to do business - Forum participation is needed. That requires Event Registration.
Space is limited and registration will close when facilities capacity is reached - approximately 100-120 people (including Tech Seekers).

Life Sciences in radically changing times:
exciting and potentially important developments now define the Life Sciences space BUT for small companies in particular, access to needed capital is even more seriously challenging
expectations of stakeholders are changed BUT development pipelines are empty(ing) and there is clear shift to much smaller deals
expanded access to healthcare has assumed major importance BUT the growing demand from all sides is to constrain burgeoning costs
This complex, highly competitive and risk-driven climate presents daunting challenges for large firms and small alike BUT also represents important opportunities for effective relationships with (and by) SBIR-STTR involved firms. The ASSET system is a proven resource to help make that happen.
Why should I participate this event?
Answer is basically the same whether you're a large firm in Tech Seeker mode, or SBIR Awardees looking for working relationships.
Short answer
.... you'll make more high-value contacts, be exposed to useful techniques and analyses, and get more business business done for a small investment of your time and your money than in almost any other setting -- and certainly more than any event that has an SBIR focus.
Longer response
... if you're in the Life Science space, and involvement in tech transfer and/or IP transactions, set-up of strategic alliances and collaborations are critical components of YOUR job description and/or part of your business development strategy, the ASSETs format of
- extensive, structured pre-event interaction
- in-depth groundwork to identify/achieve targeted matching
- various carefully crafted at-event interaction & focused content
- very useful, focused content sessions, involving leading experts in their fields
make this a powerful, effective, must-be-involved opportunity for large and small firms alike. With dozen of deals already recorded. many more in the discussion stages, and millions of reported transaction dollars, this needs-drive, market-focused approach really works. Want more detail?
______
...focused on series:
The "... focused on" series is part of the Conferences and Events component of the highly integrated ASSET system. Each offering in the series is designed to be more narrowly defined than the full-blown Annual Forums in terms of technical content. The events are shorter in duration - 1.5 days - and also somewhat smaller in scale. Events are only one part of the whole is an integrated, year-round approach to enabling and supporting effective working relationships of varying types between large and small firm - SBIR ASSETs Components
This particular offering is organized around the Life Sciences. While it can be assumed the major large players (Tech Seekers) for this session are drawn from the Medical and Health Sciences space (human and veterinary), we also expect a significant agricultural and environmental involvement. Also a strong presence in the space are equipment and devices, along with the systems to control and to power them.
What is the ASSET system?
Acronym ASSETs stands for Access SBIR-STTR Scientific and Engineering Talent system - a sophisticated, integrated process of carefully matching the defined business and technology needs of large amd mid-sized firms - here known as Tech Seekers - interested in collaboration with SBIR-involved firms with the demonstrated talents and capabilities of SBIR awardees.Want more detail?
A Needs-Driven, Market-Pull system
This tightly structured, carefully-designed convening of those in several large and mid-sized firms with Tech Scouting responsibility and appropriately qualified SBIR-STTR Awardees is always
a useful opportunity for close, opportunity-focused interaction with potential business partners
a structured setting in which to lay the groundwork for real working relationships and
a powerful learning experience for many of those involved.
Be reminded that Individual Account holders have
- pre-paid Nutshell Plenary presentation slots (30 available)
- and may use Points to 'pay' for Poster session involvement (38 available)
