How does this work?
What do you mean by a Tech Seeker?
Can an SBIR Awardee be a Tech Seeker?
What makes SBIR ASSETs different from the various Phase III Commercialization Events offered by the agencies?
What types of relationships can exist between SBIR-involved firm and other companies?
Market-Pull versus Technology Push.
What is proprietary about the idi SBIR-STTR databases?
Do we get to choose when our presentation would be scheduled?...realizing SBIR-STTR value
|
| What did they say?> |
| "I have to say, I have rarely had to work so hard at an event. Well worth it ... but next time I am bringing someone else with me. This program is so tightly run that there is almost too much for one person to take it all in." |
| -- Major corporation VP of Business Development |
SBIR ASSETs Forum: a powerful Needs-driven, Market-Pull system This two-and-a-half-day convening of several large and mid-sized firms and appropriately qualified SBIR-STTR Awardees is always
a useful opportunity for close, opportunity-focused interaction with potential business partners
a structured setting in which to lay the groundwork for real working relationships and
a powerful learning experience for those involved.
HOWEVER, it is vital to understand that the event per se is actually the outcome of what may be a several month process of drill-down prep-work - as much by the Tech Seeker as by the SBIR Awardee. The SBIR ASSETs process is NOT about showcasing the SBIR Awardee in something of a vacuum. It is about efficiently and effectively connecting serious Technology Seekers to those specific SBIR-involved firms which have
--EITHER already developed, OR have made major progress towards, what the particular Tech Seekers is actually looking for
--AND/OR have the demonstrated skill-sets which suggest that they could be engaged to work effectively to that end.
What participating Tech Seeker have said
they are in the external marketplace to buy
specifically drives SBIR ASSETs process.
Powerful databases
Underpinnning this effort and the capacity to make truly effective matches of need to capability are powerful, proprietary SBIR relational databases developed and maintained by Event organizers - long-time, leading SBIR advocates in the private sector.
Accurate and complete to the most recently announced SBIR-STTR awards, this comprehensive, cross-agency system supports offline, rapid keyword-search through all project Abstracts, Issued Patents, detailed Company Profiles, in-depth Capability Statements, Business and Financial Condition (to include VC, IPO, M&A), a full range of classification systems and analyses, Personnel Bios, Working papers, news releases and featured articles etc.
Getting the job done: about a lot more than making introductions
To support this focused Tech Transfer endeavor over the longer term, woven into the fabric of the event is a full program of sophisticated, thought- provoking working sessions.
Engaging skilled technology development practitioners from industry and the private sector, these learning opportunities will include
active case studies
expert presentation
Structured interviews
Talk Show format discussions
in-depth analyses of a range of related issues.
Note: this SBIR-STTR-focused Market-Pull, Tech-Transfer event is NOT open- access.
Invitation is required at all levels including observer status
SBIR awardees selected for presentation of Tech Seeker response, technology opportunity and/or capabilities overview posting will have made application and subjected to rigorous evaluative procedure.
