  • The Licensing Executive Society was established in 1965 as a professional society for those persons engaged in the transfer, use, development of, manufacture and marketing of intellectual property. With a membership now of about 6000 people in North America - over 12000 worldwide - these include corporate licensing professionals, licensing consultants, attorneys, financial services and venture capitalists, scientists and engineers, academics and government personnel.

Being LES involved enables members a range of formal and informal opportunities to share information on best practices, trends and the latest licensing resources. With more than 30 local chapters in key technology transfer centers throughout the U.S. and Canada, LES offers a full calendar of education and networking events. Through meetings, educational programs, and ongoing contact, LES brings together a broad range of licensing professionals with common interests and similar professional goals. LES provides members with the ability to respond to a changing business environment, through annual and seasonal meetings. These networking opportunities are open to all, with LES members receiving substantial discounts.

    Professional Committees
LES members can choose to participate in one of LES's many professional committees and industry sectors. The committees are frequently the focal points of activity for many LES members. At this point, there are 20 committee and sectors to choose from, including

  • Women in Licensing
  • Industry/University and Government Transactions
  • International
  • Consumer Products
  • Health Care
