The Advanced Individual account is a useful combination On- and Offline Services system with associated Redeemable Points and continuing Discounts enabling SBIR Awardees serious about achieving in-use condition of their technologies and capabilites to have
full online search access to the multi- element, comprehensive idi SBIR-STTR databases and
full use of the diversity of SBIR consulting, tech transfer and marketing efforts in which this firm engages year round.
All elements of the Nutshell system - to include free updates annually - are integrated into that account along with various other useful collective and individual promotional and informational services.

What is this about?
Your having reached this page means that you were one of a carefully selected group of currently active SBIR Awardees recently contacted re. your interest in being
 identified in the SBIR-STTR ASSETs Booth which is part of the Tech Fair at the Licensing Executive Society (LES) Annual Meeting to be held this year in Orlando, FL, October 19-23, 2008
and featured on a customized CD designed to showcase a good cross-section of high-quality, SBIR-STTR involved firms doing leading edge work across a range of industry segment. Like the versions made available at various Trade and Professional meetings throughout the year - including the past three Annual meetings of the Licensing Executive Society - this SBIR-STTR Awardee CD and related materials will be extensively distributed from the SBIR-STTR ASSETs Booth.
As arguably the important convening of those persons in major and mid-sized firms with job responsibility to initiate external collaborations and to bring in technologies from outside - what we call Tech Seekers - LES is among the flagship events in which we participate annually explicitly to promote the SBIR talent pool. Perhaps as many at 50% of the deals and collaborations which our SBIR featured firms have achieved in recent years have in some measure been LES affected. This is a big deal each year.
IMPORTANT:
Attendance at the LES Annual Meeting is
NOT required to be on this special CD.
Though first-rate and well worth the price of admission if you were to decide to go, participation at LES can fairly expensive and time demanding - usually hard for a small firms to justify.
That said, should you decide to attend, please do be sure to find us and let us make you some what may be useful introductions

To maintain the high quality that this showcase approach demands, please note that acceptance is not automatic. Applications will be critically evaluated as they are received. We are very willing to help bring your submissions up to snuff but if there isn't time or the quality is just not there, we will reject the piece for this event
To be a Showcased SBIR Awardee requires
- Completion of the Interest Indicator on the right panel of this page. This should be done as soon as possible and NOT later than Sept 16, 2008
- Submission by management of a Nutshell and Capability Statement. Using the developed Template which can be downloaded from the site, these are organized to a common form and format which permits indexing and ready searching.
Don't worry if you have trouble making your information fit in the spaces, staying within the lines etc - Mr Gates' products are notoriously ticklish to use. We will re-format if necessary - even to the point of editing and/or providing you feedback re. polishing up the piece.
A suggestion: If yours is a firm with more than one primary area of tech transfer capability or collaborative opportunity, you might want to think about preparing separate pieces for each area of focus rather than try to cover all aspects in a single piece. Most of the Tech Seeker Users report that they search within the CD and online primarily by areas of interest to them - and if it isn't immediately obvious that you have something that is of potential interest to them, they often don't bother to dig.
Supplementary materials:
- Electronic versions of any other promotional materials you would like us to include on the CD may be submitted up the end of September. Note that in additional to the searchable Nutshell inventory, each selected firm on the SBIR-STTR ASSETs CD is permitted up to 5MB of space on the CD.
- Note that for a nominal additional cost, you can have Poster-Type Materials displayed at SBIR-STTR ASSETs Booth.
Finally, be reminded that Advanced Individual Account holders may use the appropriate number of their points to cover their incurred cost.
One Year contract: Bonus postings:
Be reminded that those selected for LES SBIR Showcase CD are NOT ONLY paying for the LES Annual Event. All accepted Nutshellers will also be listed in
any and all CD's prepared during the 12 month period following assumption of this role. These CDs and related Green Sheets are regularly prepared for Trade Shows and similar events, plus any relevant speaking engagements we take on where SBIR Awardeees and the talent pool represented is the topic of discussion.
On the widely distributed and important CD associated to the Annual SBIR ASSETs Forum. Organized by idi, the Forum involves 12-15 major and mid-sized corporations as Tech Seekers. The next event - the Foruth - will be held in Boston, MA on March 1-13, 2009. The SBIR ASSETs component of this site - that used by many of our Tech Seekers associates to keep track regularly on what is available among SBIR awardees.
